Hours:
• Thursdays: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (potential client sessions)
• Saturdays: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (potential client)
In future with a trusted emplyee we would be happy to expand our swim session to incluede Fridays and Sundays.
Compensation: Commission-based (percentage of each dog swim session)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Swim Instructor & Trainer for Dogs to join our team. This role involves providing orientation swims and swim training sessions for dogs in a safe and positive environment. You will greet clients, explain the swim process, and ensure each session is a comfortable and enjoyable experience for both dogs and their owners.
As part of this role, you will be provided with a wetsuit and will be required to enter and exit the pool as needed. The pool is approximately 4 feet deep and contains various training tools such as platforms and ramps to assist dogs in acclimating to the water.
This position is commission-based, meaning you will earn a percentage of each swim session you conduct. Training will be provided, but prior experience in positive, force-free dog training is required.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct orientation swims and swim training sessions for clients and their dogs
• Meet and greet customers, explaining how swim sessions operate
• Ensure all dogs and clients have a safe and positive experience in the pool area
• Use provided training tools treat and toys as well as ramps and platformsto assist dogs in learning to enter the water and swim
• Monitor dog behavior and recognize signs of stress or discomfort
• Lift and handle dogs weighing 50 lbs or more as needed for safety
• Maintain pool cleanliness and ensure towels and training tools are stocked
• Take photos of dogs before, during, and after sessions for social media
• Promote a positive, force-free training environment aligned with company values
Requirements & Qualifications
• Must have prior experience training dogs in a force-free, positive reinforcement manner (required)
• First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable working in water (no need for swimming, but must be at ease in the pool)
• Physically capable of lifting and handling 50 lbs or more
• Strong customer service and communication skills—must be outgoing and personable
• Experience handling nervous or fearful dogs in a calm and patient manner
• Understanding of canine body language to ensure safe and effective swim training
• Passion for providing a fun and enriching experience for both dogs and their owners
