The Electrical Contractors Association of New Brunswick is seeking a detail-oriented and organized summer student to assist with the filing and digitization of physical documents. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and organizing our records, ensuring files are properly archived and easily accessible. This is an excellent opportunity to gain administrative experience while contributing to the smooth functioning of our office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Scan physical documents and ensure they are accurately saved into the digital archive system.
Organize, label, and file physical documents in accordance with association policies.
Perform quality checks on scanned documents to verify accuracy and legibility.
Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive records during the filing and digitization process.
Assist in organizing and maintaining the filing system for both digital and physical records.
Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the office.
Employment Requirements:
Resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick AND
Eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number) AND
Be a high school student entering 10, 11 or 12 in September 2025 OR be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2024-2025 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2025
Enrolled in a post-secondary program or recent high-school graduate.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to learn and use scanning equipment and digital archiving systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in an office or administrative setting is an asset.
Familiarity with document management systems is a plus.
Work Environment:
Office-based role with access to document scanning equipment.
Training will be provided on the company's filing and archiving procedures.
Position Details:
Location: Fredericton, NB
Duration: 8 weeks, possibility of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation: Minimum Wage ($15.65/hour)
