Medical Office Assistant - Victoria

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional administrative support. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

-Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the office
-Manage front desk operations including registering patients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments using office software.
-Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
-Maintain surgeon's clinical schedule by processing referrals and scheduling virtual and in person appointments
-Scheduling and coordinating surgical booking slates
-Arranging follow-up appointments and coordinating investigations and test
-Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers, relaying messages promptly.
-Utilize medical software systems such as Plexia for record management and appointment scheduling.
-Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, email, and managing office supplies to ensure efficient office operations.
-These tasks would be performed for 2 surgeon's starting practice. A second MOA will be hired once the practices grow to the point a second is required.

Skills

-Medical secretarial training
-Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
-Proficiency in using phone systems and managing multi-line calls effectively.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and staff professionally.
-Experience as a receptionist or in front desk roles is advantageous.
-Administrative skills are necessary for efficient office management tasks.
-Experience using EMR systems and medical records management is preferred.
-Proficiency in Plexia is preferred

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
