SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are looking for an experienced truck dispatcher to join our team. The qualified individual will work as a member of our Operations Team to communicate effectively with our drivers about their lane. The candidate will also provide updates to customers regularly and as requested. This position will dispatch truck drivers for deliveries to customers and provide necessary communications to complete tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Previous dispatching experience is required along with knowledge of the Ports, either as a driver or dispatcher.
- Schedule, Plan and Dispatch Trucks/Drivers.
- Book, change & cancel pickup/delivery appointments.
- Communicate with customers, shippers and receivers to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Handle customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Proficient with the use of a computer, including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of the transportation industry and associated laws
- Experience working with customers through various means of communication and ability to manage customer relations.
- Determine efficient and safe routing methods of transportation.
- Manage scheduling of shipments and notify departments or customers of arrival/pickup dates
- Answer inbound calls from customers for dispatching and to obtain trucking rates for incoming/outgoing shipments.
