This is a handcrafted balafon, a type of wooden xylophone with gourd resonators, originating from West Africa. This particular instrument features wooden keys suspended over a frame, with each key having a gourd resonator attached beneath it. This item is used, with some wear, but in good condition overall. Made in Ghana. Needs a new set of mallets.
