Selection of cookbooks and related books, featuring historical recipes. These are offered as a lot, but am willing to accept offers on individual books as well.
These items are from the collection of the Manitoba Branch of the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada (UELAC). We are downsizing our holdings in preparation for a move to a smaller space. Funds raised from the sale will help support the activities of the branch.
The UELAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians through knowledge of the past, in particular the history of the United Empire Loyalists and their contribution to the development of Canada.
The United Empire Loyalists were those who had settled in the thirteen colonies prior to the outbreak of the American Revolution, and who remained loyal to the Crown during the war, including those who served in military units. Many settled in what is now Canada, and their arrival directly influenced the formation of Upper and Lower Canada.
