This is a mixed farm with grain and cow/calf operation 50 miles NE of Edmonton in the County of Lamont.

This will start as a part-time job for most months of about 120 hours/month from May to October except maybe less for June but more hours for May, Aug and Sep. There may be hours for some winter months, in fact, I nearly need a full-time employee but I need to expand both the grain and cattle areas of our operations.

The part-time seasonal candidate would need some farm experience, have the ability learn our operation to work on their own, be dependable, be able to operate large farm equipment and know equipment technology. I will train you; but it is very desirable for you to have farm experience. You must have a valid Class 5 driver licence. Working on a smaller farm can be rewarding and there are always different tasks and challenges. There will be yard care, occasion garden and light building maintenance tasks. The rural work life has lots of work satisfactions. I grow a large garden which I donate hundreds of pounds to the Fort Sask. Food Bank. I also give to family and friends.

I will pay based on your ability, work and/or farm experience and I will train a person that has nearly no farm experience as there are lots of tasks that can be performed as long you are good worker that can think out the task and have a good work ethic. Preference will be given to candidates with farm experience. There is also field work with the main equipment being primarily large John Deere.

This is a good summer job for a person in post secondary or for someone who want country work and living and wants to advance into full time farm employment. I will pay for WCB. There is no CPP, EI or room and board offered at this time.
