The 1986 Canada $2 banknote (BC-55a), part of the "Birds of Canada" series, features Queen Elizabeth II on the front and two American robins on the back. Issued in a reddish-brown (terra cotta) color, it was released on September 2, 1986, and printed by both the Canadian Bank Note Company and the British American Bank Note Company. Measuring 152 x 70 mm, this note symbolizes both Canadian heritage and natural beauty. It was withdrawn in 1996 and replaced by the $2 coin (“toonie”). In AU (About Uncirculated) condition, the note remains highly collectible despite no longer being legal tender.
