Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret job specifications to ensure all production requirements are met accurately, completing necessary paperwork to maintain compliance with production standards.
Operate folding machinery to produce booklets, ensuring that all materials used meet stringent specifications required for the pharmaceutical sector.
Monitor the folding process closely to prevent paper jams and maintain smooth operation. Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify any defects or imperfections in finished products.
Prepare packaging materials, including trays and cartons, and perform shrink-wrapping to secure booklets for distribution.
Operate Longford and outsert machines, ensuring proper setup for each production run to maximize efficiency and output quality.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize production downtime.
Collaborate with the quality inspector to gain insights into the full quality assurance process, including conducting final inspections and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols to foster a safe working environment.
Undertake additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support overall production goals and efficiency.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience, preferably in paper manufacturing or pharmaceuticals, with a focus on quality assurance.
Ideal candidates may have experience in the following roles:
Folding Machine Operator: Operating and maintaining folding machines, specifically in producing booklets or similar products.
Quality Assurance Technician: Conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Maintenance Technician: Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Production Operator: Understanding the flow of materials in a production line setting and adhering to specifications.
Process Technician: Knowledge of process optimization and troubleshooting within manufacturing operations.
Printing Press Operator: Operating printing or finishing equipment with an emphasis on quality and precision.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting folding and outsert machines, with a solid understanding of machine setup, operation, and maintenance protocols. Experience with quality control methodologies and regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical sector is highly desirable.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail is critical for identifying and addressing quality issues effectively.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods; physical stamina is necessary for the role.
Attendance Record: A proven history of excellent attendance and punctuality is required.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production needs.
Long-Term Commitment: Candidates should be seeking a long-term role within a dynamic team environment.
Candidates will undergo an extensive training program lasting 3 to 6 months, during which they will learn the operational and quality control aspects of our machinery.
Additional Information:
CSA-approved safety shoes are required.
Reliable transportation is necessary due to shift timing and location.
The work environment is fast-paced, emphasizing quality and efficiency.
Previous experience and reliable references (minimum 2 company references) are required. Candidates must be able to stand for prolonged periods as shifts are 10 hours.
Candidates must be available long-term, as the client is looking to start with temporary employment and hire permanently based on attendance, punctuality, and work ethic.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new duties, as training will be provided on multiple machines. Note: Candidates without prior machinery experience will not be considered.
Compensation:
$21.00 to $22.00
Shift:
Monday to Thursday 3:48 pm to 1:48 am
Transportation:
Reliable transportation is essential for this position, as public transit may not be available to return you home from this location. Please ensure you have dependable transportation, as the client cannot accommodate lateness or absences due to transportation issues.
