The Housing Trust of Nova Scotia's mission is to provide quality, affordable housing for low to moderate-income working households in our communities across the province.

All of our units are rented at market rent; however, you may qualify for a small contribution based on your total household income. If eligible, your rental rate will be based on approximately 30% of your combined household income.

Example 1: Tyler earns $40,000 annually, and their partner earns $30,000. With a contribution, their rent would be $1,750 per month, calculated as (($40,000 $30,000) * 30%) ÷ 12 months.

Example 2: Bill is a single father earning $60,000 annually. With a contribution, his rent would be $1,500 per month, calculated as ($60,000 * 30%) ÷ 12 months.

To apply for one of our communities, income verification and a credit check are required, and at least one applicant must be employed in the healthcare or skilled worker sector.
