Live-In Hobby Farm Caretaker Couple Wanted (Starting Spring 2026)
About the Role:
We are looking for a dependable and self-motivated couple to manage the daily operations of our hobby farm, located just east of Ottawa. This is a full-time, live-in position perfect for those who love animals, nature, and a peaceful rural lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Animal Care: Feed, water, and monitor the health of farm animals (chickens, goats, horses, cattle). Maintain clean enclosures, administer basic medical care, and coordinate veterinary visits.
✅ Property Maintenance: Mow lawns, repair fences, maintain barns, and ensure the farm remains tidy and functional.
✅ Gardening & Landscaping: Plant, weed, water, and maintain gardens. Harvest fresh produce as needed.
✅ ⚙️ Equipment Management: Operate and maintain farm tools, tractors, and machinery. Basic repair skills are a bonus.
✅ General Support: Assist with firewood preparation, winterizing buildings, and light handyman tasks.
✅ Security & Animal Welfare: Monitor the property, ensure animal well-being, and report any concerns.

Requirements:
✅ Experience with farm animals and general farm maintenance.
✅ Ability to perform physical tasks in all weather conditions.
✅ Basic mechanical and carpentry skills.
✅ Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
✅ Comfortable with rural living.
✅ Valid driver's license (preferred).
✅ Experience with tractors, ATVs, and other farm equipment (preferred).
