Looking for a vegan/ vegetarian roommate to live with myself and my dog & cat. Room is available from May 15th. Rent after utilities comes to around $1000 pm (less in summer). Room is semi-furnished (bed & desk) but I am ok getting rid of furniture if you have your own.

About us: I am a 35yo queer, vegan woman who enjoys being active, cycling, cooking, spending time at home and chilling with my friends. The dog (Atarau) is a 5 1/2 yo mixed breed with lots of energy, she's very friendly and a bit hyper. The cat (Smudge) is a 4 1/2 yo shorthaired little nugget who is "aggresively affectionate" (she will smoosh you).

I keep the home free from animal products and would prefer someone who is also vegan or is OK with this at home. Not a big party person at home but will occasionally have friends over and happy for you to do the same. I like a somewhat collective house style of living - shared chores, sometimes meals, spending time together, but still respect your privacy. Appreciate those who are comfortable with voicing concerns and uses a non-violent communication model.

Will consider another pet if they get along with my animals (ideally a smaller pet as my dog is quite big already).

Located in the Central neighbourhood of Mount Pleasant. Easy access to the nearby hubs of Main Street to the West and Commercial Drive to the East where you will find many interesting restaurants and bars. There are a few parks nearby and easy transit access with the 99B bus line just a block away and both VCC-Clark and Commercial-Broadway a short walk. There is a Save-On foods supermarket, a pharmacy and a liquor store in the nearby Kingsgate Mall (which is itself an institution), as well as several nice cafes in the neighbouring area.
