This is a very good sounding stereo line preamp. of Cary SLP-90.I modified the circuit with the following features:-
1. Only the line input section is constructed without the phono section; 2. 4 silican diodes is used for full bridge rectification instead of using 6CA4 rectifier tube; 3. Two separate sections of 7812IC used with heat sinks to supply DC voltage to individual filaments.AC 15v input from transformer; 4. B output at 347V with AC 200ma to stabilize B voltage; 5. 12AX7 & 6188W/12AU7 tubes used sice 6189W is a military spec. ;6. Cathode Follower is applied as audio output; 7. 12 Nos.of 250v 150uf capaciters Nippon brand used each connects in series to make it 150uf 500v; 8. Step up & down Alps Japan volume is used.:9. Noice limiter of Schaffner used for AC power input； 10. Star grounding I.e.one point to ground wiring to minimize hum.: 11.4 RCA jacks used for switchable input & 2 RCA jacks for output; 12. A handy aluminium chassis us used for easy construction & beautify out look of the pre-amp.
