Hello,

My name is Chris. Im a 35 year old father of 3.

Ive worked in the healtcare industry for 15 years as a Care Aide. It has given me the opportunity to grow and develop as a person. As life changes and children grow, as a father and person we change.

I want to be building houses/buildings. I want to build a home for my children and there children one day.

Over my career I have also been able to gain experience and work alongside contractors doing home repairs and renovations. Working with youth I was a part of an incredible team who had to design and fabricate different ways to keep children safe, while also protecting them from the physical dangers in houses, while also complying with fire and building codes.

As a teenager I worked with an electrician who taught me very high standards and mentored a strong work ethic. I have a basic understanding of pulling wires, splicing and basic load calculations.

While working in healthcare, I have assisted in many projects from building decks, chickens coups, framing walls and various other tasks.

I am an avid outdoorsman and hunter. I hunt to provide food for my family, not a simple weekend warrior. I spend a lot of time hiking, tracking and understanding the various movements of animals. I butcher and process all of my own meat, render down various fats for cooking and donate excess to various ingenious peoples for medicine. I harvest sinew and tan my own hides, while teaching my children those same skills.

During the winter I frequently haul my ice tent up to deep lake (40lbs) to fish. I can and often do run distances of 10km or greater to maintain to my ability to hike and haul game meat from the land.

I am asking for an opportunity to continue my growth as and adult, while acquiring various skills and knowledge of building a home from the ground up.

I have my own basic kit of tools. I am very familiar with worksafebc, safe work practice, compliance reporting and documentation.

I work hard and enjoy spending a 12-16 hour day doing so.

I work well with others, as well as working alone. I have no problems being in various working conditions or in remote locations where predatory animals can be present.

I am drug and alcohol free.
