Library Technician Level II – Government Contract (Hybrid | Calgary)
We are currently hiring a Library Technician Level II for the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) in Calgary, Alberta.
Location: Calgary, AB
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Monday–Thursday onsite, Friday remote)
Contract Duration: Feb 24, 2026 – Jan 25, 2027 (may end earlier based on operational needs)
⏰ Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours/day
Mandatory: Active Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance
About the Role
You will support the Information Services team by providing technical and administrative library services, including cataloguing, classification, research assistance, and maintaining collections.
Key Responsibilities
Create bibliographic records from scratch when required
Assign subject headings and classification codes
Catalogue and classify materials using ILS systems
Maintain physical and digital collections
Conduct reference interviews and research support
Process regulatory documents and hearing indices
Generate service statistics and reports
Act as first point of contact for library inquiries
Qualifications
Experience in library cataloguing and classification
Knowledge of bibliographic standards and controlled vocabularies
Proficiency with MS Office and Integrated Library Systems (ILS)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to lift up to 15 kg and perform physical tasks as required (approx. 33 lbs)
