Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Monday–Thursday onsite, Friday remote)
Contract Duration: February 24, 2026 – January 25, 2027 (may conclude earlier based on operational requirements)

About the Role

We are currently hiring a Library Technician Level II to support the Information Services team at the Canada Energy Regulator (CER).

The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative library services, including cataloguing, classification, research support, maintaining collections, processing regulatory documents, and generating statistical reports.

Key Responsibilities

Create complete bibliographic records from scratch when required

Assign subject headings and classification codes using established standards

Catalogue and classify materials using Integrated Library Systems (ILS)

Maintain and organize physical and digital collections

Conduct reference interviews and support internal research requests

Process regulatory documents and hearing indices

Maintain service statistics and prepare ad hoc reports

Act as the first point of contact for library-related inquiries

Qualifications & Skills

Experience in library cataloguing and classification

Knowledge of controlled vocabularies and bibliographic standards

Proficiency with MS Office and Integrated Library Systems (ILS)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 15 kg, standing, bending frequently)

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday

7.5 hours per day (excluding lunch and federal statutory holidays)

Four (4) days onsite in Calgary and one (1) remote day per week
