About Us
Wheatcrest Farms is a progressive, multi-enterprise family farm located near Lomond, Alberta. Our operation includes:
• Pedigreed seed production and seed cleaning business
• Purebred and commercial cow/calf herd
• Year-round accelerated lambing flock
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Farm Hand to join our team and assist with daily operations across cropping, seed processing, and livestock enterprises.

Job Responsibilities
Seed & Cropping Operations
• Monitor and operate the seed cleaning plant
• Clean and maintain equipment, bins, and facilities
• Load and unload grain trucks and manage grain handling
• Assist with spraying, seeding, and harvest activities
• Perform irrigation monitoring and maintenance
• Support general farm and equipment repairs
Livestock Operations (Cattle & Sheep)
• Assist with lambing and calving
• Check, move, sort, and process livestock
• Perform fence repairs and pasture work
• Assist with feeding livstock
• Record and report livestock activity and health observations
Qualifications & Requirements
• Reliable, self-motivated, and dependable
• Ability to work at elevated heights (4 ft and above)
• Minimum Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driver’s abstract
• Class 1 licence considered an asset
• Livestock experience or willingness to learn
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends during busy seasons (seeding, harvest, lambing, calving)
• Physically able to bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and lift up to 50 lb, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise) using PPE
• Ability to understand and communicate in English
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Welding, fabrication, and general equipment/building skills are strong assets
• Strict no drugs or alcohol policy on the job site
