Description
Hermitage Clinic (Downtown Calgary) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Office Assistant (MOA) for a part-time position in a collegial, supportive, and patient-centred psychiatric practice.
Qualifications and Experience
MOA (Medical Office Assistant) Certification required
Minimum 1 year of experience working as an MOA
Strong knowledge of EMR systems (experience with Accuro-EMR asset)
Excellent understanding of medical terminology, particularly in psychiatry
Roles and Responsibilities
Answering and managing high-volume phone calls with professionalism and empathy
Booking, confirming, and coordinating patient appointments
Greeting patients and preparing them for psychiatric consultations
Managing referrals to specialists, therapists, and community resources
Processing requisitions, forms, and confidential documentation
Maintaining accurate and organized electronic and paper filing systems
Handling electronic funds transfer (EFT) and basic financial transactions (including deposits)
Scanning, uploading, and managing lab/test results and reports
Supporting physicians with administrative needs during patient care
Ensuring strict adherence to privacy legislation (e.g., Health Information Act)
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with clinic protocols
Assisting with coordination of patient prescriptions with pharmacies
Utilizing computer software programs including EMR systems and Microsoft Office
Managing incoming/outgoing mail and document processing.
