Looking for experienced class 1 driver for local and some short haul work.

Minimum 2 years of verifiable class 1 driving experience required for this position with no suspensions and zero demerit points on commercial driving license record. ( Clean Driving Record is Mandatory for insurance purposes)

Job responsibilities:

1. This is NOT an ideal driving position. You have to help in loading and unloading flatdeck trailers in the yard for linehaul drivers on slow days. MUST HAVE FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION.

2. Must have experience in pulling flatdecks & Dry vans.

3. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Its outdoor work so please apply only if you can work outdoors in winters.

4. Must be fluent in ENGLISH.

5. Candidates must have reliable means of transportation to get to work

6. Candidates must pass a criminal background and drug test for illegal substance.

7. Oversee cargo handling and secure loads( must have knowledge to strap down, chain down the loads), including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.

8. Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.

9. Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.

10. Must be a Permanent Resident or Canadian citizen for this job position.

11. Must have polite and professional attitude, high regard for safety and
reliable with a strong work ethic.

We will be offering $28/hr for this
position.

Job is based in EDMONTON.
This is a FULL TIME POSITION.
Its a Monday - Friday job with some weekend work if you are interested.

This position usually starts at 8am in morning and is done in evening. ( No fixed schedule for day end, mostly depending on how busy that particular day is. If work is busy means more hours)
