Three-roll grinding mill is mainly applied for grinding paste material of paints, ink, pigment, plastic, food, etc. It is suitable for grinding neither the material containing acid and alkali components nor the materials which would corrode rollers. This machine is suitable for high viscosity material, such as printing ink, offset ink and lithographic ink. It is equipped with three rollers which are in the horizontal level. With the rollers extruding and milling at different speeds, the material is ground normally for two times, the hard or high viscosity material is ground for more times, and then high-quality finished products of 3-18um are obtained (testing with a fineness scraper).

The three adjacent rolls of the three-roll mill rotate at the progressively higher speeds. The material, usually in the form of paste, is fed between the feeding roll and the central roll. Due to the narrow space between the rolls, most of the paste initially remains in the feeding region. The part that makes it pass through the first in-running nip experiences very high shear force due to the different rotation speeds of the two rolls. Once leaving the feeding region, the material that remains on the central roll moves through the second nip between the central roll and the discharging roll. This material is subjected to the much higher shear force due to the higher speed of the discharging roll and a gap typically smaller than the gap between the feeding and central rolls. Then a knife blade scrapes the processed material off the discharging roll and the paste rolls down the discharging roll. This milling cycle can be repeated for several times to maximize dispersion.

Adjusting knobs (4 pcs): Due to transportation, the adjusting knobs need to be installed by yourself after the product is received.
1. The adjusting knobs can adjust the separation distance among the 3 rolls to control the material grinding accuracy.
2. The adjusting knobs can adjust the left-and-right distribution of the ground materials on the grinding rolls.
Zirconia ceramic rolls
The zirconia ceramic rolls are high performance material rolls, have the advantages of high strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and so on, can stably run in the acidic, alkali and other severe environments and are high in chemical resistance. The machine is equipped with 2 white plastic baffles. The machine is very suitable for grinding some materials with high accuracy and colors.

Note: The ceramic has high hardness but high brittleness, and the material needs to be even in the grinding process and cannot be mixed with materials with large particles and high hardness.
Material baffle
The material baffle is made of white plastic, so that the machine is more suitable for testing materials with high color requirements. The material baffles are installed on the two sides of the feeding roll and the central roll. It is noted that the installation positions are different, the top of each baffle is engraved with a number, the end with the number is opposite to the discharging port, and the numbers on the baffles include the odd number and the even number and correspond to the installation positions on the machine one by one. The baffles should be adjusted regularly so as to be close to the roll surface preferably.

Oil filler holes
An oil filler hole is formed in the top of the machine, an oil filler hole is formed in each of the two sides of each roll, and gear grease needs to be added regularly. (For example：#40 engine oil)

Cooling of rolls
The machine is equipped with a water inlet and a water outlet, the external diameter of the water inlet is 1cm, and the external diameter of the water outlet is 2cm. A switch is installed on the water inlet, and the machine can have water circulation by being connected with a water pump.
Outlet funnel
A scraper is installed at the front end of the discharging funnel and needs to get close to the roll surface in the using process. The machine is equipped with a spare scraper, and the scraper can be disassembled through the screws on the reverse side of the funnel.

How to use?
1. Install the handwheel;
2. Install the baffle;
3. Connect the power supply (110V 60Hz);
4. Connect the water pump (the machine does not include the water pump and pipe);
5. Add a small quantity of materials, activate the switch, and proceed to adjust the machine.
