Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule activities of mechanics, including apprentices and helpers.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to mechanics for troubleshooting and repairing trucks/trailers.

Quality Control & Compliance: Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with safety regulations (e.g., Annual Safety Inspections).

Fleet Maintenance: Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs to ensure the efficiency and longevity of the fleet.

Parts & Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and order necessary tools, parts, and materials.
Workplace Safety: Adhere to and enforce health and safety regulations.

Requirements
Certification: 310T Technician certification (Truck and Trailer Technician) is often required, particularly in Ontario.
Experience: Several years of hands-on diesel engine/heavy equipment maintenance experience is usually necessary.
Leadership Skills: Experience in supervising staff, scheduling, and training.
Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic capabilities for engine, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
