Maintenance person
Description
We are seeking a full time maintenance person live-in to respond to the maintenance needs of the co-operative.
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Responsible for daily work orders submitted by the members
Report regularly to Manager on status of work orders
Regular inspection of the buildings, including common areas & mechanical rooms. Reporting to the Office Admin any deficiencies/issues with building and/or systems.
Overseeing the work of trades or contractors, providing access when necessary and at the direction of the Office Admin.
Responding to all emergencies, interacting with contractors & members in a kind & professional manner.
Weekly garbage/recycling; removal of garbage and recycling for pick-up from the city on the scheduled pick-up day, sorting & breaking down of recycling items.
Snow removal and salt application at entrances and walkways of the buildings.
Enforcing rules & regulations of the Co-op.
Respond to emergencies
Who We Are Looking For:
Education: a high school diploma is required. A trade certificate/license would be considered an asset.
Experience: a minimum of two years of relevant work experience or maintenance work a combination.
Special Skills/Requirements:
Ability to speak & read English, with good communication skills.
Ability to complete appliance repairs, routine plumbing, repairs & maintenance, painting skills.
Attention to detail
Good judgment, time management skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and shows initiative
