Instrumentation and Controls Technician Registered Apprentice
Description
Location: Calgary / Willing to relocate anywhere in Alberta
Wage: Negotiable (I am not looking for high wages – I want experience)
Who I am:
I am a 1st Period Instrumentation Technician apprentice with one full year of SAIT's Instrumentation Engineering Technology program.
I know I am a 1st year technician on paper, but I have the lab and theoretical knowledge of someone further along. I am looking for a company or contractor willing to take a chance on me – and I will work hard to prove it.
What I can actually do (not just classroom theory):
· Program a Siemens Moore 353 controller with DVC 6000, temperature transmitter, and two pressure transmitters
· Operate Emerson DeltaV DCS (setpoints, auto/manual, alarms)
· Bend, cut, and install tubing with Parker and Swadgelok fittings
· Wire control panels, check continuity, measure voltage/current/resistance
· Read and interpret P&IDs and loop diagrams
· Use HART communicator and Fluke 754 for calibration
· Work from heights, use hand/power tools, follow safety procedures
· Troubleshoot under pressure – I ran a hotel front-of-house and supervised staff
Safety Tickets (current or in progress):
· H2S Alive – current
· Standard First Aid – current
· Fall Protection – current (Worksite Safety)
· CSO – Purchased April 24, 2026. Will complete in next few days
Availability:
· Ready to relocate for full-time work or rotations
· Open to maintenance, turnarounds, small projects, or helping Journeymen on site
· I have my own vehicle and a clean Class 5 license
· I can pass a drug and alcohol test
My ask:
I am not looking for high wages. I am looking for experience and a chance to prove my work ethic. Put me beside your Journeymen. I will do the hard work right, stay out of the way, and learn fast.
