Line cook/ Prep Cook - Mississauga
Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook (Fulltime & Part Time) to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering excellent food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and grow within the food industry.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to recipes and restaurant standards
Previous kitchen/cooking experience (breakfast experience is an asset)
Cook and assemble dishes efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures to ensure cleanliness and hygiene
Assist with food plating, garnishing, and portioning to ensure consistency
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
Support other kitchen staff during busy periods, including serving orders promptly
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers in accordance with safety protocols
Adhere to all health regulations and safety procedures to create a safe working environment
Qualifications
Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred but not required; restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus
Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and meal preparation techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong understanding of the food industry and commitment to high-quality service
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
A passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn new skills in food industry operations
