Hello,

You are invited to participate in a research study called the Study of Emotion and Experience in Development (SEED), conducted by Olivia Merulla, Ella Rivet and Dr. Aislinn Sandre at Western University. This study explores how life experiences and family mental health relate to brain activity.

What’s involved:
• A 1-hour online questionnaire
• A 2-hour in-person lab visit, where brain activity is measured using a safe, non-invasive method called electroencephalography (EEG)

Eligibility:
• Ages 18–30
• No history of serious neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy)
• No significant head injury involving loss of consciousness longer than 10 minutes

Compensation:
• $30 total ($10 for the survey, $20 for the lab visit)
• OR up to 6 SONA credits (2 for the survey, 4 for the lab visit)
