About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team on the Site C Project in Fort St. John, BC. This is an excellent opportunity for local candidates with a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification to join our team.
The work is shift work with 11 hour days – 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotations. One rotation day shift followed by one rotation night shift.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy equipment and machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and component inspections to minimize downtime.
• Help maintain equipment PM tracking system.
• Help with determining needed parts.
• Work with other skilled tradespeople with various construction activities.
• Operate basic tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Support project tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Work environment may also be underground in the drainage tunnels.

Requirements:
• Proven experience maintaining heavy duty machinery. Red Seal preferred.
• Ability to pass a mandatory drug and alcohol test prior to hiring.
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks in various temperature conditions.
• Ability to work safely in an underground tunnel environment.
• Must be clean shaven where a respirator seal is required in accordance with site respiratory protection policies.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work in a team.
• Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS) are an asset but not mandatory.
• Preference will be given to residents of Fort St. John, BC, or surrounding area.
