Part-Time Licensed Electrician Required

Position Summary
Gabco Group is seeking a Licensed Electrician to provide electrical support and oversight for our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will act as the Company's Licensed Electrical Authority, providing technical guidance to in-house maintenance personnel and ensuring all electrical installations, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting activities are completed safely and in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Manitoba regulations, and industry best practices.
This role is ideal for a licensed electrician seeking flexible, part-time work. Previous industrial experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Company's Licensed Electrical Authority for electrical work performed within the facility.
- Provide electrical guidance and technical support on an on-call basis.
- Supervise and oversee electrical work performed by in-house maintenance technicians.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code, Manitoba regulations, and company safety requirements.
- Review, inspect, and approve electrical repairs, installations, modifications, and upgrades.
- Conduct periodic audits and inspections of electrical systems and completed work.
- Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting electrical equipment and production machinery when required.
- Identify electrical safety risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the development and implementation of electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices, and electrical best practices.
- Provide recommendations regarding electrical system improvements, reliability, and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with external electrical contractors, inspectors, and regulatory authorities when required.
- Maintain records of inspections, recommendations, code compliance reviews, and corrective actions.
Qualifications Required
- Valid Manitoba Journeyperson Electrician License.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
