moose hair tufting picture
Description
This decorative First Nations art form utilizes a technique in which the three-dimensional flowers and
leaves are created by tightly pulling small bunches of moose hair under a loop stitch and
fastening them off. The resultant hairs are then fanned out on all sides of the stitch and
scissor-trimmed into smooth rounded tufts. Blue and yellow flowers are presented on a red velvet backdrop.
The picture is approximately 12 x 14 inch.
