Description
Ibanez SZ 520 Prestige Quilted Maple Top, with case

YES, it is available.
How soon are you able to come and inspect it?

Both case and guitar show signs of heavy usage, and non-critical war wounds. Functional as is, but could be beautified.

The photos show the actual item being offered for sale.

The SZ520 served as the base model, featuring a thick offset double-cutaway mahogany body topped with an arched quilted maple cap and multi-ply binding for enhanced aesthetics and tonal warmth.

It includes a three-piece set-in mahogany neck with a 25.1-inch scale length, a bound rosewood fretboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and a distinctive 12th-fret inlay in a flame design spanning 11th, 12th, and 13th frets, and an HH pickup configuration using Ibanez SZ humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions, controlled via dual volume knobs, a master tone, and a three-way toggle switch.

The guitar employs a Gibraltar III fixed bridge for stable tuning and sustain, with chrome hardware completing the setup. Production ran from 2003 to 2007, establishing it as a staple for its comfortable playability and balanced tone.

The Ibanez SZ series guitars employ a dual humbucker (HH) pickup configuration, designed to deliver high-output tones ideal for rock and hard rock applications. Early models (2003–2004) typically feature custom Ibanez-designed humbuckers known as the SZ1 (neck) and SZ2 (bridge), which provide balanced warmth and aggression with enhanced midrange response. From 2005 onward, these were superseded by Duncan-designed humbuckers manufactured by Ibanez, offering similar high-gain characteristics while improving clarity and sustain

The model offered has been well used by a young axeman, and somewhere along the way the front strap peg tore out and the guitar suffered noticeable damage to the surface finish in two areas. The other issue with the guitar comes from having a slider missing from the first position of the Gibraltor bridge.

I’m willing to entertain possible trades of hollow body in the style of Gibson ES-175, or semi-hollow body like the Epiphone Casino Natural, or Sheraton Natural, something with an interesting tailpiece, acoustic electric of interesting nature, smaller amp, mandolin, Hercules stands, possibly cases.
