Cannondale Road Bike
Description
Cannondale was launched into road bike fame with professional sprinter Mario Cipollini, and have never looked back. The Synapse stood out because it addressed a gap in the market: endurance cycling. Most road bikes at the time were built for racing, not comfort. Cannondale took a bold step by designing a bike that could handle rougher surfaces while keeping the rider comfortable mile after mile.
This 18”/46cm bike has been cared for, tuned regularly and loved for years by the original owner. It is time to give it a new home and someone will be able to enjoy the benefits of a well-built bike. Starting at the front, this bike screams reliability, quality, strength and lightweight.
Shimano Flight Deck controls are mounted to the drop bars which are wrapped with Lizard Skin bar tape. This tape is a favourite of endurance riders due to its feel and soft grip. An aluminum adjustable stem is mounted on the FSA headset. The front wheel is a Mavic Aksium rim, laced radial with bladed spokes and wrapped with a Michelin tire that has lots of life left in it. The Mavic hub has sealed bearings for an easy roll. The fork has clearance for a 28MM or wider tire if you like.
Moving back to the heart of this machine we find a Shimano 105 front derailleur handling shifting over the front 3 chain rings. Whether you’re looking to climb or go fast, this has you covered. The Shimano 105 cranks have a pair of Shimano dual sided, recessed cleat, clipless pedal on them. These are ideal pedals for any rider, the recessed cleat means you van comfortably walk when not on the bike. Sealed bearings in the bottom bracket means little to no maintenance required. 2 water bottle cages complete the mid-section of this sweet ride.
Going to the rear end the quality continues and even goes up a notch. The rear shifting over the 10 speed cassette is handled by a Shimano Ultegra/600 rear derailleur. The chain has been measured for wear, less than .5. Power is sent to the ground through another Mavic Aksium rim, Mavic hub, 2 cross bladed spokes and a Bontrager tire with lots of life remaining. Clearance allows for larger tires if desired.
Lastly the happy rider sits up on a padded saddle mounted on a carbon seat post. I think that about covers this magnificent ride. It is well worth you time to come by and see this road bike. The wheels, pedals and bar tape are worth over $500.00 alone. At an asking price of $795.00, and of course no GST, this bike is a great deal. Reasonable offers will be considered.
