Hello, my name is Ethan Kaufman and I am a high school math tutor in Thornhill. Here is a summary of my qualifications:

- eight years experience tutoring high school math Grade 9-12
- eight years experience as an adult English and math literacy tutor with Literacy Council York South
- PhD in biochemistry, University of Cambridge, Gates Scholar
- Hon BSc. in biochemistry, University of Toronto
- Chancellor’s Silver Medal in Science (2nd highest GPA among graduating students), Trinity College, University of Toronto
- Governor General’s Academic Medal (highest GPA among graduating students), Thornlea Secondary School

With math, ultimately the proof of the pudding is in the eating; that is, understanding is achieved and demonstrated by working through problems. By doing this together with a patient, caring and competent tutor who can draw on a large store of knowledge and experience, students get the support they need to crack the code of each mathematical concept.

Sessions are offered online by Zoom or in-person at the Thornhill Community Centre Library. Rate is $30/hour. References available upon request.
