Advanced First Aider (Temporary Contract – 4 Weeks)
Location: Northern/Central BC- This project is near Terrace, BC. We can support with finding accommodations
Term: 4-Week Contract to Start
Schedule: Full-Time
Potential for Extension: Yes – Opportunity for ongoing employment based on project needs and performance
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Advanced First Aider to join our paving and road construction team for an initial 4-week contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site first aid coverage during active construction operations, helping maintain a safe work environment, and ensuring prompt response to workplace incidents and medical emergencies.
This position is ideal for a safety-focused professional who is comfortable working in a dynamic outdoor construction environment. There is potential for the role to continue beyond the initial contract period as additional projects are secured.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on-site advanced first aid coverage during daily construction operations.
Respond to workplace injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies.
Assess, treat, and document incidents in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
Maintain first aid equipment, supplies, and treatment records.
Coordinate with site supervision, safety personnel, and emergency services when required.
Conduct routine site inspections related to first aid readiness.
Assist with safety meetings, hazard awareness, and incident reporting.
Promote a culture of safety among crew members and subcontractors.
Qualifications
Valid Advanced First Aid Certification (or equivalent recognized certification).
Current CPR/AED certification.
Experience working in construction, road building, paving, industrial, or similar environments is preferred.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Working Conditions
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Active construction and paving environments.
Overtime or extended shifts may be required based on project schedules.
