Controller – Commercial Construction & Maintenance
Moncton, NB | In-Office | Full-Time

We're a tight-knit commercial construction and maintenance company with a strong
footprint in the retail sector. We build and maintain the spaces where people shop, work,
and gather — and we take that responsibility seriously. As we continue to grow, we're
looking for a hands-on Controller to own our financial operations and help us scale
smartly.

About the Role
Based out of our Moncton office and reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be
the financial backbone of the company. This isn't a large-corporate role where you
manage a big team and stay in your lane — you'll be close to the work, engaged with
project managers and field staff, and expected to bring both accuracy and strategic
thinking to the table. This is a fully in-office position.

What You'll Do
* Manage all day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and
general ledger
* Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate
account balances
* Own job costing — tracking costs by project, identifying variances, and reporting
results to the General Manager and President
* Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital
* Coordinate year-end with external accountants and support tax preparation
* Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, including CRA
remittances, HST/NB sales tax, and payroll obligations
* Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls
* Support contract review and project billing, including progress draws and
holdback management
What You Bring
* 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, trades, or project-
based industries
* Strong understanding of job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting
* Hands-on experience with Sage 50 and Ceridian Powerpay is a strong asset
* Sharp communicator — you can explain financial results to people who aren't
accountants
* High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
