Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) / Heavy Duty Mechanic – $48–$52/hr Full Benefits
Location: Edmonton, AB
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
1. About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Edmonton-based team at Young Guns Concrete. This is a diverse role suited for a technician who enjoys variety; you will be responsible for the high-quality diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of our multi-asset fleet, ranging from power generation to heavy earthmoving and highway trucks.
2. Key Responsibilities
• Equipment & Truck Repair: Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment and highway trucks.
• Power Generation: Diagnose and service industrial generators, including electrical components and mechanical systems.
• Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) and comprehensive safety inspections across all asset types.
• Reporting: Maintain clear and accurate service reports and work orders.
3. Schedule & Flexibility
• Standard Hours: Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day.
• Flexibility: We value work-life balance and are open to discussing flexible scheduling options with the right candidate.
4. Compensation & Benefits
• Wage Range: $48.00 – $52.00 per hour (based on experience and certification).

5. Qualifications
• Certification: Valid Alberta Journeyperson HET Certificate (Off-Road and/or Truck & Transport) or Red Seal equivalent.
• Experience: 3 years of hands-on experience working on heavy equipment, trucks, and generators.
• Licensing: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 is an asset).
• Physicality: Ability to work in a shop environment and lift up to 75 lbs.
