Role Description This is a FULL TIME plus, on-site Cook role based in North Bay, ON. The Cook will prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include prepping ingredients, operating kitchen equipment safely, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and following all food safety and sanitation standards. The Cook will assist with receiving and storing deliveries, minimizing waste, and rotating stock to ensure freshness. The role also involves collaborating with other kitchen team members during service, communicating clearly during peak times, and supporting opening or closing duties as needed.
Qualifications
Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar food service environment, with strong skills in basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and safe operation of kitchen equipment, with the ability to follow health and safety regulations.
Strong time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple orders, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently during busy periods.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies as needed, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Formal culinary training or certification is an asset but not required; a commitment to learning and continuous improvement is essential.
Reliability, punctuality, and a consistent focus on quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
