Flooring Helper / Installer Assistant – Steady Work – $20/hr – Licence & Vehicle Required

ConFab Projects is looking to hire a reliable entry-level flooring helper to assist one of our installers on residential and commercial flooring jobs in and around Winnipeg.

We are looking to hire immediately and would like someone who can start as soon as possible.

This position would be a good fit for someone who is dependable, physically capable, willing to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in flooring installation.

This position would start as steady helper work with hours likely close to full-time most weeks, though hours may vary depending on workload and scheduling. For the right person, there is real potential to grow into a long-term flooring installation career.

Duties may include:

- Assisting with flooring prep and cleanup
- Carrying tools and materials
- Removing existing flooring
- Basic cutting/trimming under supervision
- Assisting with vinyl, carpet, carpet tile, and plank flooring installations
- Keeping the work area clean and organized
- Helping the lead installer complete jobs efficiently
- Driving to job sites in and around Winnipeg as needed

Requirements:

- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Able to show up on time consistently
- Physically able to lift/carry materials and work on your feet
- Willing to take direction and learn
- Good attitude and reliability
- Basic hand tools are an asset, but not required to start
- Flooring or construction experience is an asset, but not required

Hours:

- Steady work expected, with hours likely close to full-time most weeks
- Hours may vary depending on job schedule and workload
- Some flexibility required, as flooring work can vary week to week
- Weekend or occasional off-hour work may be available depending on the job

Pay:

- Starting at $20/hr
- Opportunity for more steady work and long-term growth for the right person
- Gas/mileage arrangements can be discussed if personal vehicle is used for company-related travel beyond normal commuting

This is an entry-level position, but reliability matters more than experience. We are looking for someone who wants to work, learn, and become useful on flooring jobs over time.
