Lumber Yard Worker & Delivery Driver (Full-Time, Permanent)

Northland Building Supplies Ltd. is looking for one dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Lumber Yard Worker & Delivery Driver.

This is a dual-role position that combines lumber yard duties with local residential deliveries. We're looking for someone who is safety-conscious, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

We offer steady, year-round full-time hours. During periods of extreme cold or severe weather, work shifts indoors at our roof truss manufacturing plant to ensure consistent employment.

Responsibilities

* Operate a forklift to safely move lumber, trusses, and building materials.
* Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
* Build and bundle lumber packages for transport and storage.
* Complete local residential deliveries using company vehicles.
* Load and unload trucks safely while preventing material damage.
* Maintain inventory records and material tracking.
* Keep the lumber yard clean, organized, and safe.
* Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections.
* Assist with seasonal delivery, setup, pickup, and assembly of Maisie's Magical Christmas House & Halloween Displays during slower periods.
* Maintain a clean, smoke-free company vehicle at all times.
* Transition to indoor roof truss manufacturing duties during severe weather.

Requirements
Minimum 1 year of lumber yard or material handling experience (preferred).
Valid forklift certification (required).**
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence held continuously for at least 3 years (required for fleet insurance).**
* Clean, insurable driving record with driver's abstract.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to work both outdoors and indoors as required.
* Ukrainian language skills are considered an asset.

Smoking & Vaping Policy

Smoking and vaping are **not permitted during working hours or inside company vehicles**. They are only allowed during scheduled breaks in designated smoking areas.

* Monday to Friday
* 8-hour day shifts
* Starting wage: **From $25.00/hour**, based on experience
