Electric & Fusion Guitar - Modes, Improv, Fretboard | McGill Gra
Description
Stuck in pentatonic boxes? Let's connect more options when it's time to solo, compose, or improvise. In 3-4 session we break that wall down, 20 years teaching, Mcgill Music Grad, Seneca College Prof. For electric & acoustic players into fusion, alt, jazz, prog - anyone who wants depth beyond strumming.
YouTube taught you what to play. But nobody taught you why it works - so every solo sounds the same, every improv loops back to safe notes. More tutorials won't fix that.
I'm Matija Krunic. McGill Composition and Classical Guitar degree. Seneca College Professor. Recording artist with multiple albums released as Heartburn Hero, blending neoclassical, fusion, rock, and contemporary styles. I've taught 20 years - beginners through RCM conservatory-level players. I meet you exactly where you are.
Most intermediate students feel a real shift within 3-4 focused sessions. Not because I pile on more theory - because I reorganize and expand what you already know so the whole fretboard opens up. We use the pentatonic as a home anchor that connects to all sorts of other harmonic and rhythmic options.
What I cover:
• Modal theory applied across the fretboard
• Compositional structure - how to build a piece, not just riff over changes
• Harmonic depth - extensions, substitutions, why certain notes pull the ear
• Improvisation that sounds intentional
• Ear training tied to what you're playing
• Technique, tone, and effects - getting the sound in your head out of your amp
What you get:
• 45-min private online lessons - $45/session
• Structured lesson plan prepared before every session
• Recorded play-alongs and recaps so you progress between sessions
Free intro call - I'll map your learning path, zero pressure.
