Transport Depot (TDI) Inc. is a growing transportation company seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Service Technician to join our maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on commercial vehicles and is interested in building a long-term career in the diesel and truck repair industry. While this is not a licensed 310T Mechanic position, previous hands-on experience working with diesel trucks or heavy equipment is required.
Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers
• Complete oil and filter changes
• Rotate and change commercial truck tires
• Lubricate chassis and components
• Replace lights, mud flaps, wiper blades, batteries and other basic components
• Inspect vehicles for maintenance and safety concerns
• Assist licensed 310T Mechanics with repairs and diagnostics
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe shop
• Complete maintenance records and inspection reports
• Move equipment within the yard as required (if qualified)
Qualifications
• Previous experience working on diesel engines, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment or agricultural equipment
• Experience performing oil changes, tire service and preventive maintenance
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Valid Class G driver's licence required
• DZ or AZ licence is considered an asset
• Forklift experience is an asset
