Looking for a full time Class 1 logging truck driver (for the season until 2027 spring break-up). The log hauls are off-highway in the Hinton and Grande Prairie area of Alberta. The equipment is all recent 2023 and 2024 truck with tri-hayracks. The pay is hourly at 42.00$ per/hour with overtime paid after 10 hours per day. The driver is not paid on the log haul turnaround-time but is paid from the time they start the truck in the morning to the time they shut the truck off at the end of the shift. Extra work like minor maintenence and washing are all paid at the same rate as driving. In other words, the driver is paid for everything they do. Vacation pay is paid at 5 % and paid out on every cheque. Paydays are every two weeks. Accommodations are paid for in either a camp or a motel.
Recent heavy rainfalls in the northern Alberta area have impacted all logging operations, our driver will not be expected to lose money because of weather beyond their control. All days scheduled to be worked but are cancelled because of heavy rain or mud will result in the driver being paid a "stand-by" rate of 250.00$ per day. This "stand-by" rate will be paid out as per a normal work day on a regular pay period paycheque.
