CASTING CALL – Volunteer Performers for a Comedy Nature Documentary (Toronto)
Love acting, improv, or making people laugh?
We're casting 3 fun performers to play hilarious invasive plant mascots in a 10-minute educational comedy documentary about protecting Toronto's ravines and parks.
Characters: Naughty-Knotty (Japanese Knotweed) – the overconfident land developer.
Vinny Devine (Dog-strangling Vine) – the overly affectionate vine who hugs everything.
Sir Buck Thornton (Common Buckthorn) – a pompous "King of the Forest."
No professional acting experience required—just enthusiasm, personality, and a willingness to have fun!
Project Details:
Community environmental film funded through a Park People Microgrant
Filming in Toronto
Simple DIY costumes provided
Food, refreshments, reference letters, and modest honoraria (budget permitting)
Great for actors, comedians, drama students, cosplayers, and content creators.
