Banquet Chef — Part-Time with Opportunity to Grow into Full-Time Sous Chef
Eagle’s Nest Catering | Edmonton, Alberta
Eagle’s Nest Catering is looking for a creative, hardworking, and dependable Banquet Chef to join our growing team. This position will begin as part-time, with the opportunity to develop into a full-time Sous Chef position as our catering volume continues to grow.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys the fast-paced catering environment, and wants to build a long-term relationship with an established Edmonton catering company.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food for catered events.
• Assist with banquet preparation, production, packing, loading, delivery, setup, and service.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, food-safety procedures, and presentation guidelines.
• Help organize the kitchen and ensure catering orders are prepared accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist with receiving, inventory, and proper food storage.
• Work collaboratively with chefs, kitchen staff, servers, and event staff.
• Support the Executive Chef and gradually take on additional Sous Chef responsibilities.
Qualifications
• Previous professional cooking, banquet, restaurant, or catering experience.
• A valid driver’s licence and the ability to safely drive catering vehicles when required.
• Able to lift and carry food, equipment, and supplies.
• Able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, as catering volume and scheduled hours change from week to week.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, hardworking, and able to work well under pressure.
• Food Safety certification is considered an asset.
