Three-Bedroom Lakefront Cabin for Sale on Quadra Island

Description
Dive into the crystal clear waters of Village Bay Lake right off your dock, where you immerse yourself in nature, and relive memories of a simpler era.

We have lovingly modernized our family cabin for eight years, but it’s time for our next adventure. We bought it off the original owners, who built the cabin by hand in 1975 on this wooded .9 acre lot on 100 feet of waterfront. It’s off grid, but you’ll hardly notice, with solar power, running water, a propane-powered hot shower, plus a “Number 1 only” toilet adjacent to the house, and a pleasant outhouse that benefits from a urine diverter, which dramatically reduces odors. (Also includes an older model composting toilet should you wish to install it. We have never seen the need).

Three bedrooms (one down, two up) plus meditation/yoga area on upper floor with pull-out bed. (Sleeps 12 if you use couches, with nine in beds). Newer double-pane windows throughout. Modern weathered metal siding, insulated walls, ceiling and partially insulated floors. All furnishings (couches are newer modern couches) bedding, dishes, etc. are included.

Village Bay lake is a 108-hectar lake located on the east side of Quadra Island, BC and is linked to Main Lake and Mine Lake, in Main Lake Provincial Park. This property backs onto the provincial park, so this peaceful oasis will be preserved long into the future. Quadra Island is part of the Discovery Islands. Maximum horsepower permitted is 9.9 hp, so no jet skis or highspeed boats to disturb your peace.

Also included:

Solar panels and inverter
Cellular booster
Firman 3550 generator
1 Newer custom welded aluminum boat with Yamaha motor
12-foot rivetted aluminum boat

One double in other upstairs room with room in loft area for a second bed.

Newer “Unique” brand propane range
Two propane fridges in excellent working condition.

HOW TO GET HERE: Quadra Island is accessible via a 10-minute ferry drive from Campbell River Ferry Terminal (which is a 45-minute drive from the Comox airport). From there it’s a 25-minute drive to the Village Bay Lake Boat Launch. Many people leave a smaller boat at the launch area.

Or, drive two minutes further to a smaller parking area, and our cabin is a 10-15 minute stroll through beautiful forest and along the lakefront.

No direct road access to the cabin ensures further privacy.

Geography: Forms part of the largest freshwater canoe/kayak waterway in the Discovery Islands, featuring hidden bays and sandy beaches. Guide to Paddling the Main Lake Chain | Quadra Island

Other notes:

Nicest neighbours in the world, who are friendly, but also not “too friendly” and will allow you your peace, but also always willing to help. We usually try to get together once a summer for a meal.

Financial considerations:

Banks are hesitant to grant mortgage financing for off-grid cabins without road access. You may have luck with a credit union or a mortgage broker.

Property Taxes 2026: 1,351.04 (Cabin)
$26.00 (Foreshore fronting).

BC assessment 2026: $368,500. Foreshore fronting assessment: $7200.00

SHOWING TIMES ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1, 2026
