Great ground manners, good to catch, load, bath, he is the farriers favourite horse. He was used in a lessons program for years with young kids.

If I could change his name to Eddie and call him Steady Eddie I would. He is a consignment horse but I had him in for training last summer and he hasn’t changed a bit. He just walks out calm & steady. I’m pretty sure snails were passing us on our ride, but he’s a great horse if you have a lot on your mind…. Because his glacier pace gives you lots of thinking time.

Jokes aside Smudge doesn’t have an athletic bone in his body and would be best suited to someone who understands that and doesn’t try to make him something he is not.

I’d trust Smudge with all my kids. He is a horse I look forward to riding.

He can be a bully in a herd dynamic, he is best suited penned alone and kept off a lot of fresh grass. He also needs a mounting block to mount. This was information passed down from original owner. From years as a lessons horse with kids crawling up, he got soured.

I have mounted him probably 150 times and I couldn’t make him do anything wrong. I continue to just jump on and go. But for full transparency & disclosure both the owner & myself want new owners to know everything about Smudge.
