NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER "A harrowing, straightforward, staggeringly first-person prose, Parrado tells us what it took—and what it actually felt like—to survive high in the Andes for 72 days after having been given up for dead.”

Nando Parrado was in a coma for 3 days before he woke to discover that the plane carrying his rugby team had crashed deep in the Andes, killing many of his teammates, his mother, and his sister. Stranded with the few remaining survivors on a lifeless glacier, Parrado resolved that he could not wait to die. After weeks of experiencing ongoing pain and starvation, the men finally decided that the only way that they could survive was to revert to cannibalism of those who died.

A young man without a disposition for leadership, Nando led an expedition up the treacherous slopes of a snowcapped mountain and across 45 miles of frozen wilderness in an attempt to save his friends’ lives as well as his own. Decades after the disaster, Parrado tells his story with remarkable candour and depth of feeling about the crash and its aftermath.

Even though I have watched the movie about this tragic event in the movie 'Alive', reading word for word from Nando's personal experiences, I was blown away. And although I do not normally do so, I found it almost impossible to put this book down and ended up reading it within a few days. This riveting tale of true-life adventure and revelation brings out countless feelings of dread, sadness, triumph, and love. It is a story of people on the edge of death and the limitless redemptive power that pushed them on to survive.

Originally priced at $30s, I am selling this outstanding book on the study of Hitler and his tyranny for only $5s. With a saving of over $25, this is a great deal. Please contact me at lbraden@rogers.com if you are truly interested.

* Due to the weight of books, this item will need to be picked up, be it by the purchaser or someone else. This is due to the countless times in which I have taken the time to travel to Canada Post offices to learn the costs of delivery, only to have the sale turned down.

Depending upon your location, I may be able to drop them off for an additional fee to cover gas and time.

Thank you for your understanding!
