Join Our Team
Mr. Wrought Iron is looking for a motivated 1st or 2nd Year Welding Apprentice to join our growing ornamental metal fabrication team. If you enjoy working with your hands, take pride in quality craftsmanship, and want to learn from experienced tradespeople, we'd like to hear from you.
Our work includes custom ornamental iron, railings, gates, fences, stair systems, structural steel, and architectural metalwork for residential and commercial projects throughout Calgary.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the fabrication and installation of custom metalwork.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details.
- Operate grinders, saws, drills, and other shop equipment safely.
- Perform MIG and SMAW welding on mild steel
- Prepare materials for fabrication, fitting, and welding.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work both in the fabrication shop and occasionally on installation sites.
Qualifications
- Registered 1st or 2nd Year Welding Apprentice in Alberta.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Reliable transportation to our Calgary shop.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
