Koda is a flashy and very athletic young gelding with a solid foundation and the potential to go in any direction. Standing approximately 14.3-15hh, he has a stocky build with great bone and feet.

We purchased Koda as a yearling and started him with some groundwork, desensitizing and even got him to pack a pony saddle around. He later spent time on a cattle ranch, so he’s comfortable around cows and ranch life.

He is easy to catch, even in a pasture… good for the farrier and stands tied nicely, loads and trailers well and is good with dogs, mares and other geldings. That said, he is definitely low in the pecking order, but a great babysitter for our youngest one. Additionally, he’s up to date on deworming and trims.

Koda has been sat on approximately 20 times and has done well with round pen work under saddle. We’ve found he’s great to work with, but once rider weight is added, he needs someone patient and experienced to continue building on his foundation. For that reason, he’s best suited for an experienced horseman, trainer, or confident rider looking for a prospect, to take him to the next level.

The only reason he’s available is that with a baby on the way, we simply don’t have the time to continue his training the way he deserves. We’ll continue working with him as time allows, and his price will increase with training.
