We are currently hiring a Lead Service Technician with extensive hands-on plumbing or HVAC service experience. This role is suited to a confident journeyperson who enjoys complex service work, supporting other technicians, helping maintain quality standards, and contributing to a strong team culture.

What You Bring

You bring extensive hands-on experience in plumbing or HVAC service, strong troubleshooting skills, and the judgment to assess complex jobs, support other technicians, and maintain high standards for safety, quality, and customer service. You are professional, practical, detail-oriented, and comfortable providing field-level guidance when issues arise.

Duties and Responsibilities

Complete plumbing and HVAC service work at a high level, including more complex service calls, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting.
Provide practical support and guidance to technicians in the field when they encounter technical questions or unexpected issues.
Review selected jobs for quality, completeness, safety, and adherence to company standards.
Prepare or support quotes for larger, more complex, or higher-risk jobs, including reviewing scope, materials, labour, and customer expectations.
Help ensure technicians complete clear job notes, photos, and documentation needed for customer communication, follow-up, and billing.
Support consistent customer service by communicating professionally, explaining work clearly, and escalating concerns when needed.
Model and reinforce safe work practices in the field, including use of required equipment, adherence to company health and safety standards, and prompt reporting of hazards, incidents, or near misses.
Act as backup for the Operations Manager when needed, including helping coordinate field priorities and supporting technician questions or escalations.
Skills and Competencies
Journeyman certificate in plumbing, HVAC, or a related trade
Extensive hands-on plumbing or HVAC service experience
Strong understanding of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems and components
Strong troubleshooting skills and sound judgment when assessing complex service issues
Ability to provide clear guidance and practical support to other technicians
Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing field priorities
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safe, high-quality work
Ability to prepare accurate information for quotes on larger or more complex jobs
Professional, ethical, and customer-focused approach
Additional Requirements
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with fewer than 6 demerits
Driver’s abstract required at time of interview
Able to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced service environment
Must supply basic hand tools
Working Conditions
Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
Tasks may require climbing, kneeling, reaching, or working in awkward positions
Occasional heavy lifting may be required

Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional overtime and participation in the rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule.
