Heritage Skills Development Centre (HSDC) is looking for reliable and hardworking Labour Staff to support the 15th Annual Afro-Carib Fest!

Afro-Carib Fest is a two-day annual festival celebrating African, Caribbean, and diverse cultures through music, dance, food, arts, and cultural entertainment.

Work dates:
August 21, August 22 and August 23 and August 24th, 2026 ( Friday to Monday) or Minimum of 3 days listed here

Location: Thomson Memorial Park, Scarborough, Ontario

Responsibilities

- Assist with event setup and teardown
- Help move and arrange tables, chairs, tents, equipment, and supplies
- Assist vendors and event staff with setup needs
- Help maintain clean and organized festival areas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials
- Move supplies and equipment as directed
- Support general event operations throughout the festival
- Assist with garbage and recycling collection as needed
- Follow instructions from supervisors and event coordinators
- Perform other general labour duties as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Previous event, warehouse, construction, or general labour experience is an asset
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying moderate amounts of weight
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work August 21, August 22 and August 23 and August 24th, 2026 ( Friday to Monday) or Minimum of 3 days here
- Flexibility to assist with setup and teardown schedules

Compensation: $18/hour
