Job Duties:
Supervision and Work Coordination
• Supervise, assign and review the work of 3 warehouse and production staff.
• Establish work schedules, shift coverage and daily production and shipping priorities.
• Establish and document standard work procedures and coordinate their implementation across shifts.
• Resolve work problems, equipment stoppages and scheduling conflicts as they arise, and recommend corrective measures.
• Conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring and staffing recommendations.
• Prepare and submit operational and production reports to management.
Specialized Equipment Operation and Oversight
• Operate, and supervise staff in the operation of, the company's three specialized production units:
o CNC roll forming line (coil fed profile production)
o Specialized production press
o Hydraulic CNC press brake
• Coordinate coil loading, material feed and tooling changeovers on the roll forming line, and verify profile dimensions and tolerances against specification at run start and at intervals through the run.
• Verify die setup, tonnage and cycle settings on the production press, and confirm first piece conformity before release to production run.
• Confirm bend sequence, back gauge positioning and material allowance on the press brake, and check formed parts against drawings and tolerances.
• Maintain operating logs, run records, tooling condition records and preventive maintenance schedules for all three units.
• Diagnose routine operating faults, coordinate servicing with equipment vendors and technicians, and maintain records of downtime, causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure all operation is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable Alberta occupational health and safety requirements.
Operational Data Collection for Automated and AI Assisted Processes
• Collect, record and structure operational data from the three production units, including cycle times, throughput, changeover duration, tooling and die setup parameters, roll forming line speeds and profile tolerances, press tonnage and cycle settings, press brake bend sequences and material allowances, scrap and rework rates, and downtime causes.
• Document existing work processes in written procedure form, capturing decision points, tolerances, exception handling and the operating knowledge currently held by experienced staff, in a format suitable for use by automated and AI assisted systems.
• Maintain the accuracy and completeness of operational records in the company's inventory, scheduling and production tracking systems, and correct data quality issues at source.
• Act as the operational subject matter reference for internal staff and external technical consultants implementing automation and AI tools, supplying process detail, reviewing proposed workflows against actual floor conditions, and identifying gaps or incorrect assumptions.
• Validate the outputs of automated and AI assisted systems against observed production results, and report discrepancies, failure cases and edge conditions to management and to the implementing technical team.
• Compile and report operational metrics to management on a regular cycle.
• Identify recurring bottlenecks, variances and process exceptions from collected records and recommend procedural changes.
• Support the rollout of approved procedural and system changes on the floor, including training staff on revised procedures and verifying compliance after implementation.
Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination
• Coordinate receiving, storage, order fulfillment and shipping activities.
• Monitor inventory levels, requisition materials and supplies, and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers and internal departments on scheduling, delivery timing and material availability.
Training and Safety
• Train new and existing staff in job duties, equipment operation, quality standards and safety procedures.
• Enforce site safety rules and maintain required safety documentation and incident records.

o Identifying and correcting data integrity problems, including duplicate entries, missing fields, unit mismatches, and discrepancies between system records and physical counts
• Ability to read and apply equipment manuals, specifications and technical documentation.
• Working ability in English sufficient to supervise staff, write procedures and prepare reports.
• Standing for extended periods, lifting up to 75 lbs, and operating production equipment.
